Expanding our Digestion Operations- Two New Tanks Commissioned.

GP Biotec has been in operation for approximately 8 years and altogether processed about a quarter of a million tonnes of waste, which is a significant amount of waste diverted from landfills and other waste disposable sites.

A few months ago, two new digester tanks were commissioned for the primary digestion of waste before being fed into the secondary digester tank. The two-stage digestion process means the entrapment of biogas is optimised meaning, a lot more of the biogas is sent to be processed by the Combined Heat and Power engines (CHP).

The introduction of the new tanks will also allow for maintenance works to be carried out on the old tanks and once maintenance works are completed, a total of 4 tanks will be in full operation for the digestion of biological waste at GP Biotec. The introduction of the tanks has been carried out by Experts in the industry with the adoption of best available techniques.

As people look to do their bit for the environments, there has been an increase in consumer demand for cleaner energy and it is exciting that GP Biotec can expand its capacity to meet some of these demands.
